Anny v Brně Neglect syndrom představuje známou, i když ne vždy správně diagnostikovanou selektivní poruchu uvědomování si podnětů z polovi-ny prostoru kontralaterálně k cerebrální lézi. Introduction. Unilateral spatial neglect (USN) is one of the disabling features of a stroke Also called a “brain attack” and happens when brain cells die because of inadequate blood flow. 20% of cases are a hemorrhage in the brain caused by a rupture or leakage from a blood vessel. 80% of cases are also know as a “schemic stroke”, or the formation of a blood clot in a vessel supplying Neglect is a “network syndrome” and represents damage to one or more components of a distributed network (Involves the above outlined parietal, frontal, and limbic components) Represents a domain-specific impairment of spatial attention; ASSESSMENT ISSUES.

Differential Diagnosis Visual Neglect. Visual neglect is a common neurological syndrome in which patients fail to acknowledge stimuli toward the side of space opposite to their unilateral lesion. This disability affects many aspects of their life.

Spatial neglect is a common syndrome following stroke, most frequently of the right side of the brain. Such patients fail to be aware of objects or people to their left.

Hemimotor neglect or simply motor neglect is a neuropsychological condition that occurs after damage to one hemisphere of the brain, characterized by a failure of spontaneous use of upper and lower limbs on one side of body. It occurs in the absence of paralysis, pyramidal syndromes, extrapyramidal symptoms, strength and primary sensory deficit.

The neglect syndrome is a cluster of neurologic symptoms commonly found after right hemisphere damage. This study investigates the degree of association between the main components in a representative sample of 69 patients at 2 to 3 days poststroke. The syndrome of hemispatial neglect is characterised by reduced awareness of stimuli on one side of space, even though there may be no sensory loss.
